On March 29th, Artemis announced that the release of their new single “BURN” would be postponed due to the aftermath of the recent wildfires in the Yeongnam region.
According to their agency, Modehouse, the single, which was originally scheduled for release at 6 PM the day before, has been delayed.
Modehouse stated, “The rescheduled release date will be announced later. We would like to express our deepest condolences to everyone affected by the wildfires.”
Artemis had been promoting their new song “BURN,” even showcasing it at their recent concert, but after the wildfires caused casualties and damage, they decided to delay the release. The decision was made because the title of the single, which means “to burn,” could be misinterpreted given the situation.
Modehouse also expressed gratitude to the distributors and vendors who have worked with them and sincerely thanked their fans (OURII, Artemis fandom) for their understanding.
The wildfire in the Gyeongbuk area, which caused significant damage, was extinguished on March 28th after a week of efforts, but it reignited in Uiseong following Andong overnight, and authorities are currently working on putting it out.
According to the Central Disaster Safety Headquarters, as of 4 PM that day, there have been 30 deaths, 43 injuries, and a total of 73 casualties.
